cant turn off push alerts??

I cant turn of push alerts for my timeline, it keeps sending me push alerts. I just want push alerts for mentions and direct messages, but i dont want pushes every second for my timeline.... I tried everything...i reinstalled the app, i bought new service through boxcar, still no luck, please help....I only have mentions and direct messages on in app settings but i dont get why im getting timeline pushes??
