Not receiving push notifications regularly on the iPhone
Hi Jonathan,
This issue is RUINING my experience with Boxcar:
I have noticed that when I switch off my iPhone or reboot it, Boxcar stops sending me the notifications... This only started happening lately and only with the iPhone. My iPad on the other hand receives the notifications right after I turn it on...
So far, it seems that whenever I have my iPhone back on, I have to launch Boxcar EACH TIME to get the notifications to start rolling again!
Do you have any idea on how to fix this?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks and regards.

I'm having the same issue as well and I've posted about it on twitter but it seems they don't really care about their customers because no one has replied to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fares,
Is this the UDID for your iPhone: 1c5196f7626cc75cb18d22f7c51535817e697f17
You can find your UDID here:

I hate to keep bugging you with this, unfortunately it's happening again: my iPhone's battery ran out and it switched off. Now the iPhone is back on but no notifications :(
What should I do? What could be causing this on the iPhone but not on the iPad?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks and regards,
FF

Fares,
Quite literally Apple is telling us that you have removed Boxcar, or your phone has become inactive on the cellular network. Typically they won't tell us to stop sending you notifications, until the device hasn't been available for a day or two at least.
When Apple tells us that, we disable that particular device and stop sending notifications to it. We *never* disable devices other than when Apple says to stop sending notifications to one.
To re-enable a specific device, opening Boxcar and letting the inbox fully load (if you're using Boxcar v3), or signing out and back into Boxcar will re-activate it.
Is your device jailbroken? Which cellular network provider do you use?

Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for your reply and the explanation provided.
Please let me know if there's any other information that I can provide you with so that we can figure out why is Apple telling you I removed the app while I certainly haven't. As I mentioned earlier, iPhone battery ran dry and it took me maybe 5 minutes or so to get to a power source and switch it back on...
So all I need to do once I notice the issue is to launch boxcar again. I'm just surprised because this never used to happen and because it doesn't happen on the iPad but I sure appreciate you taking the time to help me through this...
My device has never been jailbroken ever since I bought it 2 years ago (it's an iPhone 3G by the way running iOS 4).
The cellular network provider is Etisalat in Dubai.
